At the Wilbert plant of Zoomlion’s German subsidiary, the first knuckle-boom truck-mounted crane has successfully rolled off the production line and been delivered to a customer in Slovakia — the latest news that marks another major milestone in the company’s European localization strategy.
Zoomlion acquired Germany’s Wilbert in 2018. In recent years, Zoomlion has continuously advanced the expansion and upgrading of its overseas production bases. Under Zoomlion’s overall strategic layout, Wilbert has transformed from a manufacturer solely focused on construction hoisting machinery into a comprehensive industrial base capable of producing construction hoisting machinery, concrete machinery, and engineering hoisting machinery. The first telescopic boom truck crane delivered is a new outcome of this strategy.
The delivered telescopic boom truck crane, model ZLK7600V803, represents a perfect combination of “Chinese technology and European manufacturing.” The product integrates a locally sourced European Scania chassis with Zoomlion’s optimized telescopic boom crane technology. It not only complies with CE certification and European road transport regulations but also offers excellent lifting performance, high quality, and cost-effectiveness. Designed specifically for the demanding working conditions and regulatory standards of the European market, it can easily handle various complex material handling and lifting operations.
The improvements in product delivery efficiency and local adaptability brought by localized production have been fully acknowledged by the client. Tibor, the representative of the Slovakian client, stated: “Zoomlion’s German subsidiary, Wilbert’s factory, has delivered its first truck crane for the European market to us and is steadily advancing the product line for large engineering machinery that meets our country’s needs. We are very pleased to cooperate with Zoomlion to expand the engineering crane business. This year marks the 30th anniversary of our commercial cooperation with China. This new equipment is a symbolic gift, allowing us to continue moving forward hand in hand!”
In recent years, Zoomlion has consistently deepened its European localization strategy, strengthened its competitiveness in the European market, and reinforced its presence in the global construction machinery industry by building high-end equipment manufacturing bases. Besides the German Wilbert factory project, the company has newly established a Hungary-based aerial work platform factory and a second-phase German factory this year. By accelerating the improvement of its European manufacturing network covering multiple categories of high-end equipment, Zoomlion enhances local supply efficiency and market response speed, laying a solid foundation for further expanding its European market presence.
Currently, Zoomlion has established 13 R&D and manufacturing bases overseas and over 30 primary business air hubs, with its products and services covering more than 170 countries and regions. The company will continue to leverage its localization advantages, enrich its product portfolio for overseas markets, and strengthen market coverage and service responsiveness, polishing the golden brand of Chinese intelligent equipment manufacturing globally.
