At CES 2026, LG Electronics officially introduced its newly developed home service robot, CLOiD, designed to advance the future vision of a “Zero Labor Home” through fully automated household services. Capable of autonomously performing multiple complex household tasks, including breakfast preparation, the robot marks a new stage in home robotics technology.
CLOiD features a humanoid-inspired design with a head, torso, and flexible lower body. Its bionic arms, equipped with five-fingered precision gripping capability, enable delicate operations. Live demonstrations showed the robot independently executing a series of breakfast preparation steps—such as retrieving milk from the refrigerator and placing bread into an oven—demonstrating its practicality in real home environments.

According to the latest news, an LG Electronics representative stated at the launch that the introduction of CLOiD is a key step in the company’s strategy to build an integrated smart home ecosystem. By deeply integrating the robot with LG’s AI-powered home appliance systems, users can automate household tasks, significantly reducing daily chores. The company plans to continue advancing related technology research and gradually achieve fully automated whole-home service scenarios.
In terms of safety and adaptability, CLOiD is equipped with a multi-sensor system that perceives its surroundings in real-time to avoid collisions. It also possesses continuous learning capabilities, allowing it to optimize service processes based on user habits. Its design balances mobility in home environments with operational stability.
Although the current demonstration focused on breakfast preparation as a core scenario, LG revealed plans to gradually expand the robot’s functional range to include more household categories such as cleaning, organization, and laundry management. The company stated that CLOiD represents a significant technological realization of its “Zero Labor Home” vision and is expected to drive systematic changes in home lifestyle over the coming years.
This launch also aligns with the CES 2026 focus on “intelligent living.” With the ongoing integration of artificial intelligence and robotics technology, home service robots like CLOiD are poised to redefine modern home experiences, creating more discretionary time and a higher quality of life for users.
