Galaxy General, a leading Chinese embodied intelligence firm, has recently closed a new round of financing exceeding $300 million. Co-led by China Mobile Chain Leader Fund, the round draws participation from prominent domestic investment platforms and industrial giants including China International Capital Corporation Capital, Chinese Academy of Sciences Fund, Jiangsu Venture Capital Group, CCTV Integrated Media Fund, and Tianqi Co., Ltd. It also secured additional investments from international institutions based in Singapore and the Middle East, as well as existing shareholders. With this latest funding, the company’s total accumulated financing has reached approximately $800 million, setting new records for both single-round and total financing in China’s embodied intelligence sector. Industry insiders reveal Galaxy General’s latest valuation stands at $3 billion (over RMB 20 billion).

Financing Journey & Leadership

Founded in May 2023 by Wang He, a post-90s professor from Peking University, and Yao Tengzhou, Galaxy General has rapidly emerged as a standout in the venture capital circle. Even at its inception, the company completed a seed round of financing, attracting top-tier investors with its high investment thresholds and fast-paced funding rhythm—leaving many interested institutions unable to participate.

In June 2024, the firm closed a RMB 700 million angel round, featuring strategic and industrial investors such as Meituan Strategic Investment, BAIC Group Investment, SenseTime Guoxiang Fund, and iFLYTEK Fund, along with leading financial investors including Qiming Venture Partners, BlueRun Ventures, Matrix Partners China, Source Code Capital, and IDG Capital. Light Source Capital also joined the early-stage investment.

That November, Galaxy General secured another RMB 500 million in a strategic round, with contributions from Hengxu Capital, Hong Kong Investment Corporation (HKIC), Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Fund, Beijing Robot Industry Fund, Shenzhen Venture Capital Group, CCB International, Zhiyou Scientists Fund, Rongyi Investment, and Jinjing Capital. Existing shareholders including IDG Capital, Matrix Partners China, BlueRun Ventures, and Beijing Robot Industry Fund further increased their investments.

In June 2025, the company completed an over RMB 1.1 billion financing round, welcoming strategic investments from CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited), CATL Capital, China Development Bank’s Guokai Technology Innovation Fund, Beijing Robot Industry Fund, and GGV Capital, alongside additional commitments from existing backers. Notably, Galaxy General remains the only embodied intelligence large-model enterprise to receive investment from CATL.

Wang He, the company’s co-founder and core leader, brings profound academic and technical expertise. Born in 1992, he graduated from Tsinghua University’s Department of Electronics before pursuing a doctoral degree at Stanford University. Upon returning to China, he joined Peking University as a faculty member, founding and leading the Embodied Perception and Interaction Lab (EPIC Lab). In 2022, he established the Embodied Intelligence Research Center at the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence and served as its director.

Technological Breakthroughs

Galaxy General’s success in attracting significant capital stems from its cutting-edge technological innovations. The company recently launched NavFoM, the world’s first cross-ontology, full-domain surround navigation base model. This breakthrough enables robots to truly understand the “essence of movement,” achieving both following and autonomous navigation capabilities in complex scenarios. It pioneers hour-long long-distance navigation and dynamic obstacle avoidance in the industry.

Addressing the long-standing gap in dexterous manipulation capabilities, Galaxy General also unveiled DexNDM, a neural dynamics model for dexterous hands. Breaking free from traditional trajectory programming, this model introduces a training-based dexterous hand control algorithm—allowing robots to flexibly handle complex, diverse, ultra-long, and ultra-small objects with precise in-hand rotation. Capable of tasks such as screwing and table leg repairs, the technology empowers embodied intelligence to serve trillion-level industrial precision applications.

These advancements come as embodied intelligence is incorporated into China’s national science and technology strategy, signaling the global humanoid robot industry’s transition from rapid motion performance development to a new phase of large-scale productivity, led by companies like Galaxy General.

Commercialization & Market Expansion

Galaxy General has achieved long-term, fully autonomous, and large-scale deployment of humanoid robots in real-world scenarios across multiple sectors.

In industrial manufacturing, the company has established in-depth collaborations with domestic and international leading enterprises including CATL, Bosch Group, Toyota Motor Corporation, Hyundai Motor Group, BAIC Group, SAIC Motor Corporation, Zeekr Automotive, and Great Wall Motor. As the first in the world to implement humanoid robots in factories for real autonomous work, it has secured cumulative orders for thousands of units.

In urban smart services, Galaxy General launched “Galaxy Space Capsule,” the world’s first city-level embodied intelligent urban service solution. Operated entirely by humanoid robots, these capsules provide “zero-distance” services to consumers and have been deployed in dozens of cities nationwide, including popular business districts, landmarks, and residential communities such as Beijing’s Summer Palace and Wangfujing Street, Chengdu’s Chunxi Road, Suzhou’s Shishan Cultural Square, and Hangzhou’s Hubin Road Pedestrian Street.

In instant retail warehousing, the company’s robots are deployed at scale in dozens of retail warehouses, enabling fully autonomous order picking and packaging processes based on embodied large models. This effectively addresses labor shortages and heavy workloads during nighttime operations, with Galaxy General’s smart retail warehouses operating 24/7 stably across the country for over a year.

In late 2024, Galaxy General partnered with Abebio Medical to launch China’s first 24-hour smart medical stores, featuring fully autonomous operation by humanoid robots. These stores have been rolled out in major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou, demonstrating a replicable and scalable solution for embodied intelligence in instant retail.

The company also extends its reach to healthcare and elderly care, collaborating with prestigious medical institutions such as Xuanwu Hospital, the 301 Hospital, West China Hospital Group, and Peking University Health Science Center. Its humanoid robots are deployed in wards, pharmacies, and guidance scenarios, enhancing service autonomy and friendliness for the elderly while reducing the workload of medical staff.

As Galaxy General continues to expand its global footprint, supported by international capital and domestic industrial resources, it is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of embodied intelligence and humanoid robotics worldwide.
