On September 6th, as part of the 2025 Smart Expo series of events, a special “First 100” launch event was held. At the event, Chongqing Design Group’s Chongqing Design Institute debuted its “Lingji Smart City” large-scale model product, effectively filling a gap in the city’s digital intelligence infrastructure.
Chu Dongzhu, General Manager and Chief Architect of Chongqing Design Institute, revealed that “Lingji Smart City,” a vertical AI large-scale model for urban digital infrastructure construction, aims to break down the barriers between architectural spatial engineering language and the intelligent generation of information models. By gradually improving three core capabilities: precise deciphering of engineering drawings, intelligent modeling of basic data, and intelligent application of data elements, it significantly improves the quality and efficiency of building a penetrating urban information space and complex built environment information systems. It also helps to fully understand the underlying infrastructure of urban assets and resources and enhance operational efficiency.
Lingji Smart City, independently developed by the Chongqing Design Institute over eight years, breaks through computer image recognition bottlenecks. Leveraging the nation’s first AI-CG dual-modal data fusion and recognition technology, it intelligently deciphers engineering drawings, accurately extracts internal building structural data, and automatically constructs L1-L3 hierarchical and household-specific 3D building models based on application requirements. Compared to manual modeling, this significantly improves modeling efficiency and reduces costs, addressing the industry challenges of the inability and slowness to build large-scale urban digital twins.
Furthermore, Lingji Smart City boasts high flexibility and adaptability to multiple scenarios, enabling deep empowerment in typical scenarios such as high-rise fire protection, public safety, urban construction, urban planning, asset management, public services, and the low-altitude economy, fully unleashing the multiplier effect of digital technology in urban governance.
For example, based on the “Lingji Smart City,” the Chongqing Design Institute, the Yuzhong District People’s Government, and the Chongqing Fire and Rescue Bureau jointly created a high-rise firefighting demonstration scenario in Yuzhong District. This system establishes a super-high-rise fire prevention and firefighting system that provides full-time, all-area fire safety awareness through “intelligent generation,” “intelligent alarm,” “intelligent self-rescue,” and “intelligent rescue.”
Gao Mindong, Deputy Director of the Application Center of the Chongqing Yuzhong District Big Data Application Development Bureau, explained that the “Fire Information Express” intelligent entity built on “Lingji Smart City” connects smoke detectors directly to the 119 command center and intelligently generates alerts, improving fire assessment and dispatch time by two-thirds. To address the challenges of super-high-rise firefighting, “Lingji Smart City” integrates relevant management service platforms, enabling users to apply for airspace, define an operating radius, and deploy reconnaissance drones, firefighting drones, and delivery drones for timely firefighting and rescue operations with a single click.
