CES2025

From January 7 to 10, the CES 2025 Global Consumer Electronics Show with the theme of “DIVE IN” will be grandly opened. More than 150,000 industry participants and more than 4,000 exhibitors will gather in Las Vegas, USA to showcase the most cutting-edge innovations.

Introduction to The Global Consumer Electronics Show

The 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA is a weathervane for global technological innovation and the consumer electronics industry. The exhibition is hosted by the Consumer Technology Association of the United States (CEA for short). It was founded in 1967 and has a history of 50 years. It is held in Las Vegas, a world-famous gambling city, every January. It is the world’s largest and most influential annual consumer electronics technology exhibition, and it is also the world’s largest consumer technology industry event. The exhibition is highly professional and has good trade effects, and enjoys a high reputation in the world. The CES exhibitions over the years have gathered the current outstanding traditional consumer electronics manufacturers and IT core manufacturers. They brought advanced technical concepts and products, attracting a large number of high-tech equipment enthusiasts, users and industry audiences.

The organizer of the show, the Consumer Technology Association (CEA), is a prestigious industry association that promotes the development of the consumer electronics industry by formulating technology policies, organizing large-scale exhibitions, conducting market research, and establishing industry strategic relationships. The association is composed of more than 2,000 member companies, and the operations of each member company involve the design, development, production and sales of audio, video, mobile electronics, communications, information technology, multimedia products and various components, as well as various services. The annual turnover of all CEA member companies exceeds US$165 billion.

AI is Everywhere

Artificial intelligence (AI) is undoubtedly the core theme of CES 2025. From voice assistants to deep learning models, AI technology is being integrated into almost all consumer electronics products. US media reported that Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun delivered a keynote speech on January 7. Nvidia, headquartered in Santa Clara, California, has focused on AI processors for data centers in the past two years and is likely to launch AI chips for personal computers at CES.

These products may include desktop graphics processing units based on Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture. These new GPU processors are the rumored GeForce RTX 50 series, which are aimed at gamers and creators. Nvidia may also announce the launch of Arm-based central processing units to compete with Qualcomm, AMD and Intel. At the same time, AI is entering the field of consumer devices, from cars and smartphones to home appliances and digital health products. Even some niche AI-driven products, such as smart flower pots, smart spice dispensers and automatic cat litter boxes, are included.

At the CES 2025 exhibition site, attendees will see a large number of hot product areas. Following the success of Meta Ray-Bans (Ray-Ban smart glasses) launched by Meta and Italian eyewear manufacturer Essilor Luxottica, smart glasses are another exciting product category. Most companies are focused on adding audio technology to glasses, allowing users to make and receive calls and listen to music. AI technology in glasses includes real-time language translation, turn-by-turn navigation and voice-based personal digital assistants. In addition, smart glasses with built-in cameras can take photos and videos and recognize places, objects and people. Other companies at the show are focused on adding AI smart assistants to wireless headphones.

Focus on Autonomous Driving and Smart Driving

Automotive technology continues to occupy an important position at CES, and although the number of major automakers participating this year has decreased, the exhibition still focuses on innovative areas such as autonomous driving, electric vehicles and smart travel. Sony’s self-driving electric car Afeela, developed in cooperation with Honda, made its debut, showing how to combine entertainment with transportation technology.

BMW is another major manufacturer with major plans at CES this year. The German automaker plans to showcase the “Neue Klasse” platform that has been touted for several years, including its new panoramic iDrive display and a brand-new operating system.

Although automotive and technology companies will showcase many technological breakthroughs at the show, the uncertainty of the global trade environment may still pose a challenge to these innovations. For example, Honda sells 80% of its Mexican production to the US market, according to Reuters. The company warned that if the United States imposes permanent tariffs on cars imported from the country, it will have to consider shifting production.

CES has developed far beyond its original intention as a gadget and electronics show. “Today, it covers a variety of categories such as automobiles, health technology, extended reality and wearable devices,” said Forbes magazine in the United States. “From John Deere tractors to AI-driven health diagnostics and self-driving car prototypes, CES is more like where the future becomes reality,” said Fabrizio, president of the Consumer Technology Association.
